Landing

I was recently a passenger on a boeing 737, and as we were decending and approaching denver intl. I noticed that we were almost halfway through the runway and towards the end of the runway when the plane finaly touched and came to it's complete stop, seemed intense and scary for a mintute seemed like the pilot's were gonna have to go around and try landing again. And there was a little bit of turbuleance during the landing and approach.Now my question is after saying all this were we approaching and landing correctly?
